RuggON, a global manufacturer of ruggedized mobile solutions, announced today it has upgraded its popular PX501 fully rugged tablet with advanced 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i5 and i7 processors. The new model is called the RuggON PX501 GEN V and is the first device in its class to feature the latest Core i processors. These Core i U-series processors feature integrated Intel Iris® Xe graphics for enhanced visuals and use only 15W of power when running.
The PX501 GEN V will also be upgraded from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and from 4G connectivity to 5G connectivity.
“Our PX501 has long been a mainstay in our lineup of rugged computers,” stated Tom Wang, CEO of RuggON North America. “We are pleased to enhance it further by adding this newest generation of Intel Core processors. The unit is a multitasker and is at home in any number of applications from law enforcement to field services, fleet, agriculture, military, automotive, logistics, manufacturing, unmanned vehicle control, and device customization.”
Main features of the RuggON PX501 GEN V 10.1” Fully Ruggedized Tablet
The PX501 now comes with a choice of 13th-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. These latest-gen CPUs and Windows 11 give you powerful computing for smooth productivity, and the PX501 GEN V is the first in its class to run on these processors.
This tablet supports WiFi 6E, 5G, and Bluetooth® 5.3, so you can stay connected over longer distances with higher connection speeds. Experience precise positioning, faster processing, broader coverage, and more stable data transfer even around buildings or trees. Seamless connection is enhanced through a switchable dual pass-through connector.
Quickly switch between bright mode, night mode and stealth mode, so you can get very clear visuals in sunlight or stay hidden at night.
The PX501 GEN V has one of the best displays in its class: a high-resolution, 10.1” TFT LCD WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display protected by Gorilla Glass. 1000-nits brightness lets you read and work comfortably even in bright sunlight. Advanced touch technology avoids unintended touches, while an IP54 digitizer pen or 2mm hard-tip stylus ensures an accurate touchscreen interaction and effective writing.
Many I/O ports and expansion options lets you plug and play any add-on devices you might need – including options like a fingerprint reader, a smartcard reader, an NFC card reader, a UHF RFID unit, or a 2D barcode reader. This means the PX501 can expand its roles to include things like passport scanning and identity detection. Its USB-C port also lets you connect to the latest peripherals and accessories.
A built-in bridging battery lets you hot-swap your batteries. The batteries also feature fast charging, so your tablet can move while its backup battery quickly recharges – and you never have to power down. Now you can maximize work time while minimizing downtime.
The PX501 GEN V is certified for IP65, MIL-STD 810H and MIL-STD 461G standards, which means it’s rainproof, dustproof, and can also withstand shocks, vibration, and being dropped from a height of 5 feet — for powerful computing in a very rugged shell that’s made for field work in harsh environments.
